Mico introduces Common Rail in India
Bangalore, February 23, 2005: Bosch, world's largest supplier of automotive technology had announced an investment Rs.1,000 Crore through its flagship company Motor Industries Co. Ltd. (MICO) last year. Out of this, Rs.550 Crore will be spent towards the
introduction of Common Rail System including application, testing and manufacturing. The Common Rail System has contributed to making diesel cars cleaner; more economical, less noisy and sportier than ever.
Mico is proud to announce the first locally applicated Common Rail System with Mahindra Scorpio 2.6 Turbo. It was launched at Mumbai yesterday in the presence of the top brasses of both the companies. An excellent example of Customer-Vendor relationship, Mahindra & Mahindra with Mico and Bosch engineers applicated this technology in a record time of 1 year. A series of rigorous tests under all possible conditions were conducted at India, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.
With the forthcoming stringent emission norms in India and the quest for a state-of-the-art technology, Common Rail System is being introduced in our country by Mico and Bosch. Bosch has pioneered the Common Rail System the world over, and has sold more than 15 million systems the world over. Bosch has sold 3 times more passenger car CR systems compared to all its competitors put together. Bosch is confident of replicating its global success in India too.
