Bangalore, May 26, 2006: Dr. Ferdinand Allerkamp has been appointed as the Joint Managing Director of Motor Industries Company Limited. Dr. Allerkamp was previously the Senior Vice President, Project Management – SAP at Robert Bosch Gmbh, Germany. In his current role, Dr. Allerkamp will be responsible for all commercial functions - finance, human resources, IT and legal.

Dr. Allerkamp joined Bosch in 1983 in the Controlling Division of Blaupunkt at Hildesheim. He rose to become the Managing Director Commercial at Robert Bosch, Penang, Malaysia in 1990. In 1993, he moved to Bosch Headquarters at Stuttgart to assume management
responsibility for the Gasoline Systems and the Diesel Systems divisions. He then took over as Head - Commercial Plant Management at Blaichach Plant, Germany from 1996 to 2002.

Dr. Allerkamp succeeds Mr V K Viswanathan who is on deputation to Robert Bosch Corporation, USA.

As Motor Industries is poised for a substantial growth in all its business segments, Dr. Allerkamp will be focusing on strengthening the Information Technology and Human Resources areas which are vital enablers in ensuring future success.
