Motor Industries Bags Dun & Bradstreet – American Express Corporate Award
Mumbai, Aug. 18, 2006: Motor Industries Company Limited, flagship of the Bosch Group inIndia has been awarded the “Dun and Bradstreet – American Express Corporate Award 2006” for outstanding performance in the Auto Components sector in 2005-2006. Motor Industries was selected the best amongst top 10 auto component manufacturers in India. The awards ceremony was attended by over 300 chiefs of India’s most prestigious companies.
The company has also featured in all the Dun & Bradstreet Top 500 listings since 1998 including the 2006 edition which was unveiled by Mr Damodaran, Chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on this occasion. The publication identified 58 sectors
for classifying the companies, and the Dun & Bradstreet – American Express Corporate Awards 2006 ceremony felicitated the top 20 companies from the identified sectors.
Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) is the world’s leading provider of global business information, knowledge and insight. D&B manages the world’s largest and most valuable commercial database of over 100 million companies. Dun & Bradstreet’s “India’s Top 500 Companies 2006” includes private sector companies listed on the BSE and NSE as well as public sector enterprises. The private sector companies have been shortlisted on the basis of their market capitalisation on the BSE and NSE, India’s two main stock exchanges. The listed companies profiled account for over 75% of the BSE’s market capitalization, while the total income of the top 500 accounts for 50% of India’s GDP. Another feature of the publication is the sectoral classification of companies based on revenues. A company should generate atleast 35% of its revenues from a particular sector in order to be classified under that sector.
