Bosch “On Track” to attract engineering talents.
- Pioneering Technology and future ready competence being offered to students for the first time.
Chennai, 7 March, 2008: As part of its commitment to nurturing automotive engineering talent in the country, Bosch today flagged of “On Track”, an experiential-led programme for engineering students in the country. To be held over three days at Sriperumbudur, Chennai, the event will allow students to experience first hand the technological innovations that Bosch is renowned for. On Track is a collaborative effort of Bosch Group in India comprising of Bosch Limited, Bosch Rexroth India Limited, Bosch Chassis System India Limited and Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Limited,
“On Track provides a great opportunity for students to experience first hand the leading edge technologies we have pioneered. With the rapid growth in the Indian automotive industry and technological advances in the industry, we hope to inspire students to pursue the fascinating world of automotive technologies as a career,” said Dr. Manfred Duernholz, Joint Managing Director, Bosch Ltd on the occasion. “India has a rich talent pool and there is a great future for Indian engineers in the world of automotive technology as the Tata Nano has demonstrated.”
Leading edge Bosch technologies such as the Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS), Idle Time Start-Stop Mechanisms, Low Idle Governance (LIGOV) will be demonstrated at the “On Track” event and students will have an opportunity to experience cars showcasing these technologies. In addition, static vehicle demonstrations of other technologies such as Pilot Injection and Fuel Balancing Control to reduce engine noise and vibrations will also be held.
About 800 students and 80 professors of colleges from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Punjab have been invited to participate at On Track.
