Bosch Chassis Systems India declares 30% dividend for 2007
- Q1, 08 revenue at Rs. 1378 million
- To introduce Anti lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Program in India
- New facilities at Sitarganj and Singur
April 29, 2008: Bosch Chassis Systems India Limited, a subsidiary of Bosch Group, declared a dividend of 30% for the year 2007. Considering the 1:1 bonus declared in May 2007, this translates to 60% on a cum-bonus basis. During the year 2007, the sales revenue (including other income) was Rs.5,541 million reflecting a growth of 11% over the annualized previous year. The profit after tax stood at Rs. 416 million.
The sales revenue and related profit numbers for 2007 are not comparable with the previous accounting period ended 31st December 2006. This was a truncated period of nine months to align the accounting year of the Company with the Bosch Group’s international calendar of January to December.
The company has also posted a sales revenue (including other income) of Rs.1,378 million for the Q1, 2008 (Jan – Mar) representing a growth of 3.6% over the same period last year. The profit after tax for the reported quarter was Rs.107 million or 7.8% of sales revenue. The new JV company, M/s KBX Motorbike Products Pvt. Ltd, which commenced standalone operations during Q1, contributed sales of Rs.233 million in the Q1 sales revenue.
The company plans to offer advanced braking systems such as Anti lock Braking Systems & Electronic Stability Program in the Indian market by mid-2009. This will cater to the requirements of OEMs offering contemporary vehicles for the domestic and export markets.
The Company’s manufacturing facility at Sitarganj, in the state of Uttarakhand, is fully operational. A new facility is being created at Singur near Kolkata to serve the requirement of Tata Motors’ prestigious small car – the Nano. The company’s Technical Centre under construction would be ready by early 2009 to design and test sophisticated braking systems in India.
