Electronic Diesel control
The introduction of EDC meant that it became possible to implement totally new functions, so that the diesel engine is now able to comply with the increasing demands made on comfort , dynamic response fuel economy and environmental compatibility. In addition , the Electronic control unit (ECU) permits diagnosis and communication with other ECUs in the vehicle.

The basic design of the ECUs is identical for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Auxiliary functions can be integrated in the ECU in the form of hardware and software solutions.
