Supporting Innovation and diversity in the arts
Art_Grant.jpg
Our goal is to further the development of strong communities by supporting talented artists who have genuine financial needs. We believe that art can strengthen the community.

Our objectives are to:

  • Foster and energize diverse voices in the arts: Identify, fund and help promote work of promising talent that falters only because of financial constraints.
  • Support organizations that nurture and help needy artists.
  • Increase access to art for communities

It takes two to jazz!

Supporting the Bangalore School of Music:

Friday October 9, 2009, 7pm. A jam-packed audience at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore, was all set to listen to some great music. The Bangalore School of Music was getting down a group of young jazz musicians, The Saxony Youth Orchestra from Saxony, Germany. The ensemble featured one of the largest possible jazz formations - 1 singer, 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and rhythm section - in all about 30 musicians. For us at Bosch, it was business and a real pleasure to the leading music school in Bangalore.

Robert Bosch Art Grant

We have instituted an annual art grant – the Robert Bosch Art Grant - for the artists of Bangalore and Coimbatore. Through the Robert Bosch Art Grant, we provide support to a broad spectrum of artists that includes painters, artisans, musicians, actors, dancers and photographers.

After receiving the applications each year from the artists, the project continues for one year or less; at the end of which, an exhibition of the project outcome is organized.

In 2009, six individuals and two institutions have won the grant worth about 8 lakh Indian Rupees.

We bring to you a brief description of the projects that were selected in the year 2009:
