As one of the four world-wide locations for global development of electronic control units (ECU) for diesel systems, the department EDP develops platform software for all 32 bit ECUs.

EDP also undertakes SW validation activities in the areas of unit and system testing.

Team Member – Injection system SW      (Code: 0802020)

Your Tasks:

• Testing and maintenance of platform software for unit injector and common rail injection system for diesel control systems for passenger cars and trucks. The nature of the tasks could be a combination of the following:

Involvement in various phases of software development for embedded control system.

Study of customer document/ functional enhancement, evaluation, planning and proposal of solution.

Review of the solution with PL/PM

Documentation ( High level/ Low level design/ Test strategy)

Implementation review

Integration of the software units

Unit Testing in integrated environment

System Testing

Preparation of Test Report

Maintenance of test cases

Interact with customer for providing solution to problems reported.

Our Expectations:

• BE\ B.Tech in Automotive engineering \ Mechanical \ EE \ Mechatronics \ Controls and Instrumentation
• 1 to 3 years in software system testing or development Knowledge of test processes ( Test planning, strategies and specification )
• Exposure to different levels of testing – unit testing, integration testing and system testing
• Exposure to various methodologies of test case design
• Exposure to defect analysis techniques
• Experience in "C" programming for embedded system and software system integration for at least 1 year
• Exposure to microcontroller based embedded systems
• Zeal to breakdown working software and provide scope for improving the same
• Interest in automotive domain, automotive pollution and its control and good understanding of the domain for his present job would be an advantage
• Exposure to Diesel fuel injection system is desirable
• Hands on experience with tools like Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, debugger etc. Conversant with testing tools like Rational Test Real Time (RTRT)
• Willingness to take up any tasks like development, testing and maintenance
• Exposure to quality standards like CMM and ISO is desirable
• Knowledge of German language would be an added advantage
