Top Indian company in the Auto Components sector
Bosch Ltd. is the top Indian company in the Auto Components sector for the Dun & Brandstreet – American Express Corporate Awards Award 2006. The Awards seek to recognize the twin virtues of size and growth in the organizations of corporate India, from a derived list of top 500 companies in the country.
To shortlist companies for the Awards, the D&B analyst team developed a proprietary financial model for identifying the top companies in each sector.
Seven parameters were considered in ranking companies for awards - Total Income, Net Profit, Net Worth, Net Profit Margin, Net Profit/Net Worth, Growth in Total Income and Growth in Net Profit. Final rankings of the companies were based on a composite score of these factors.
Star Performer for outstanding export performance
The Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) conferred the 'Star Performer' for outstanding export performance in the large enterprises category on Bosch Ltd.
In a befitting All-India EEPC function held at Chennai on Aug 10, 2006, Bosch Ltd. received the coveted award from honorable Shri Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry. The function was attended by senior government officials both from the Central and State level as well as dignitaries from diplomatic mission in Chennai and other various corporate sectors.
Bosch Ltd. has garnered a total export figures of Rs 423 crores in 2005, almost twice as high as Rs 193 crores in 2001. Dr Albert Hieronimus, Managing Director conveyed, "this award recognizes the talent and skills of all our Bosch employees across India." The "Star Performer" title is truly an acknowledgement of this feat.
Safety & Technology Award
Subsequent to winning the ‘Auto Component Manufacturer of the year 2005’ award previous year, BOSCH Ltd. has once again proved its prowess in the automotive arena. The award won this year brings forth onto the surface the fact that Bosch combines crucial factors like safety and technology, with the drive to innovate and maintain the same, synonymous with the Corporate and Product philosophy of Bosch – the 3S principle – to make driving safe, clean and economical.
Mico Bosch was the unanimous choice of the jury behind the NDTV Profit CAR INDIA AWARDS 2006 for the Safety & Technology Award. This award recognizes the best in the industry, and has been instituted by the newest automotive magazine in the Indian scene - CAR INDIA. The jury focused on the advances made in automotive technology which also have bearing on safety.
This important award was presented to Bosch Ltd. this year for its pioneering work on the new age direct injection diesel fueling systems, with notable emphasis in the range of common rail diesels which have already appeared in series production cars in India.
Also taken into account was the persistent focus of Bosch Ltd. on unit injector systems which are entering the scene in the high profile high aspiration D-segment cars. This award looked into not just the advances in the technology but also the benefits the new technology brought to automotive users as well as the potential for the technology to be applied in India, both in user terms as well as in manufacturing terms.
The Safety & Technology Award was presented to Dr Albert Hieronimus - Managing Director, Bosch Ltd. and Mr M Lakshminarayan - Joint Managing Director, Bosch Ltd. by Mr Shrikant Marathe, Director of the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi on Janaury 12, 2006.
