The Bosch booth in Hall No.6 was officially inaugurated by Dr. Bernd Bohr, chairman of the Bosch Automotive Group on January 4, 2012. Earlier, at a press conference, Dr. Bohr also spoke about Bosch’s plans for India, including future expansion plans and investment.
This year, the theme for the Bosch booth is “automotive competence from a single source,” and the technology on display at the stall promised just that. The Bosch division, Starter Motors and Generators, is among the world’s leading suppliers of equipment for the supply of electrical energy and starter-motor solutions for motor vehicles. The starter motors on display showcased its extensive portfolio, including the start/stop system from Bosch, as well as new baseline generators that promise to increase power output and efficiency.
Chassis Systems Control displayed its Electronic Stability Program ESP ®, Antilock Braking System (ABS) as well as airbag control units. With safety being an increasing concern on Indian roads, Bosch is also offering its electronic Combined Brake Systems (CBS). Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Limited, which is the largest Bosch development center outside Germany, showcased its integrated solution for ECV programming, including the ECU Prog™ featuring flash and EEPROM programming. Information was also on hand at the stall for the division’s engineering services and business transformation services through IT.
The Car Multimedia division offered its Dual View Display for consumers, which provides simultaneous display of two different pictures for the driver and co-driver, depending on the viewing angles. Also on display was its multimedia and navigation system, which can be used either as a touchscreen or voice input. As the world goes increasingly mobile, Bosch is not left behind. The Bosch Car Multimedia booth showed its navigation panel for the Apple Iphone and a freely programmable instrument cluster/ecluster.
Automotive Electronics, another division featured at the Bosch booth, showcased its SMARTRA Immobilzer – the smart theft protector for vehicles and Side View Assist for safe lane changing. Electrical Drives exhibited tailor-made modules designed for reduced fuel consumption and CO2 as well as world-class wiper systems. For the first time at the Auto Expo, ZF Steering Systems also displayed its range of steering systems, including ZF Serroelectric. The Chassis Systems stall exhibited a wide range of brakes promising improved pedal feel among other consumer benefits.
Bosch also proudly showcased its latest regulators for increased generator performed for commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles and the eco start-stop system. To round off, Gasoline Systems with its powertrain sensors and fuel supply modules for emerging markets and diesel vehicles. Diesel Systems also exhibited its vast array of diesel engines, inline and distributor pumps, which enhance Bosch’s long term commitment to clean mobility, while an outside stall dedicated to Bosch Service and Automotive Aftermarket, also enhanced the best that Bosch has to offer.
