Innovation Campaign
At Bosch, innovations are a thriving tradition While developing technologies, Bosch researchers work intensively on such questions – how much innovation is possible to safeguard human and environment safety? Inventions made by Bosch in both automotive and non-automotive arenas reflect this. We have launched a special campaign based on ‘innovations’. This section will feature stories on the same.

The Bosch tradition to ‘innovate’ is spread in both automotive and non-automotive segments worldwide. Bosch’s R&D prowess is also being actively pursued in India as well. We have launched a special campaign to highlight the presence of Bosch ‘innovations’ in India, created to communicate Bosch's global capabilties to the Indian customers. The first in this series is the CRS ad.

Bosch CRS in India

Bosch’s Common Rail Systems (CRS) technology is now being pursued in India as well. It has been estimated that CRS Systems will occupy 60% of all diesel applications in the next 8 to 10 years. The Indian diesel market is growing, and through Mico India will now have hands on access to world class driving.

The use of diesel worldwide is supported by Common Rail Systems introduced by Bosch for the first time in passenger car segment. After Bosch pioneered this technology, it has in subsequent years, led to fuel efficient, clean and powerful diesel engines.

The production of Common Rail High Pressure pumps are slated to begin in the Mico Bangalore plant from June 2006 onwards. The first locally manufactured Common Rail Systems are scheduled to come off production lines by 2007. Mico designs, develops and manufactures PF pumps in India; and they are currently being exported to Germany and Italy and used by some of the foremost Indian OEMs. Mico has already started producing injector parts, some of which have been exported to South Korea.

Denoxtronic technology - The future is also here

To further elevate diesel technology, Bosch also plans to applicate Denoxtronic technology in India. This technology is mainly targeted at heavy vehicles and trucks.

Denoxtronic technology significantly reduces nitrous oxide emissions by up to 85% and particle emissions by up to 40%. It also yields up to five percent better fuel efficiency. All this will enable commercial vehicle manufacturers in India to meet the tighter exhaust emission norms set to come in place in the future.
