"It is my intention, apart from the alleviation of all kinds of hardship, to promote the moral, physical and intellectual development of the people." - Robert Bosch

Robert Bosch, our Founder, continues to be the predominant source of inspiration for meaningful and impactful CSR at Bosch India.

An entrepreneur-par-excellence as well as a distinguished philanthropist, Robert Bosch aimed to play a significant role in uplifting people and improving the social conditions of the day. He envisioned a company that generated social capital beyond products, services and profits.

The roots of his philanthropy lay in family tradition and an intellectual interest in social issues. This philosophy of Robert Bosch has been the guiding light for Bosch in all its operations and activities. Bosch is committed to actions that accord with the interests of society, the economic use of precious resources, and environmental sustainability.

The company believes in improving people’s quality of life with its products and services that are as innovative as they are beneficial. The Bosch value of responsibility is practiced towards society, the environment, products and customers, associates and young talent, and for corporate governance. All its activities follow national laws and universally valid rules and standards.

Social Engagement for a Sustainable Future

Over the past 60 years, Bosch in India has created a space for itself in the society not just as a technology and innovation pioneer, but also as a company that ‘cares’. Our corporate social responsibility endeavours, known as ‘Bosch Social Engagement’, aim to make a difference in the communities in which Bosch operates. As illustrated below, Bosch Social Engagement has three pillars: Bosch Limited CSR, Primavera and Bosch India Foundation.

Within Bosch Limited, we have defined three major thrust areas, namely:

1. Vocational Training (BRIDGE) – A special program to make school dropout youth employable through short-term job-oriented training courses

2. Health, Hygiene & Education – for underprivileged children studying in Government Schools around Bosch locations

3. Neighborhood Projects – identified by plant management in Bosch India plants, as per local society needs

These CSR initiatives reinforce us as a community-conscious, socially-responsible and value-based organisation, committed to making the world a better place to live in. All our CSR projects work towards the holistic development of the individual and society as a whole.

CSR: Embedded in Bosch culture

CSR may be a new term in the corporate lexicon, but it has a long tradition in Bosch worldwide. The concepts of sustainability, responsibility and social welfare have intrinsically been woven into the corporate ethos of the organization since the company’s inception. True to the vision of its founder, Robert Bosch, the Group has constantly been engaged in activities that create a sustainable impact. Through the development of sophisticated technologies and solutions, which are directed towards improvement of life, conservation of resources, and upliftment of the less privileged, Bosch has worked ceaselessly towards creating a multiplier effect.
